You’ll help create t-shirt quilts by doing the sewing parts: piecing quilts that are cut and designed in house, cutting and attaching borders, binding finished quilts. It’s all straight seams, but t-shirt and performance materials can be tricky to work with, so it requires some aptitude.
Our work atmosphere is laid back and autonomous. You can listen to your own music/podcasts/audiobooks, don’t have to interact with customers, and can set your own schedule (though initially will need to come in at the same time as an experienced person for training)
- Be comfortable using a sewing machine
- Enjoy being detail oriented. Every job listing says this, right? But really, you won’t like this job if you don’t enjoy getting granular and paying attention to the little things. No one likes to have to constantly reach for the seam ripper because yet another block was sewn in sideways…
Starting Pay: $13/hour
